Santiago de la Presilla is a Europe-based journalist & communications adviser who specializes in European affairs and Poland.

He is currently a contributor for the The Observer, Charter97, and Visegrad Insight as well as an alumni of the YJTE network in Bratislava.

Ever since he started covering European politics he's had the chance to interview people like Mark Rutte, the Dutch Prime Minister, Ilya Ponomarev, the only member of the Russian State Duma who voted against the annexation of Crimea, former U.S. Secretary of Defense, Derek Chollet, the leader of the S&D Group at the European Parliament, Gianni Pittella, Liberal MEP Angelika Mlinar, and Belarusian activist Andrei Sannikov. 

He was also part of the journalist and PR team at the Model of European Union 2015 and 2016 at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, as well as an outreach officer for the Model of European Union Warsaw 2016.

He also covered the NATO Summit in Warsaw and travelled to Ukraine as a correspondent several times, where he was able to interview Alexey Chaban, a Ukrainian soldier who spared the life of Russian-backed militants after disabling their tank.

He was a media advisor to the Casimir Pulaski Foundation during the Warsaw Security Forum 2016 and currently works for the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland.
